Haiti

After the 2010 earthquake, AMURT Haiti expanded its programs to meet the needs of the affected population. In the Anse Rouge area, 25 miles northwest of Gonaives, AMURT has employed returnees in a comprehensive environmental restoration program, stabilizing damaged landscapes with thousands of trees. In Port-au-Prince, AMURT is training camp residents of all ages in organic kitchen gardening to help people become more self sufficient.

Urban Gardens

AMURT is training earthquake affected families to grow vegetables in old tires and plastic bags - innovative options for crowded camps.
