AMURT is an international relief and development
organization working in 34 countries. We work
with marginalized people to help them become
self-sufficient in the basic necessities of
life: food and water, education, shelter and
healthcare. We broaden the notion of family to
include everyone in need of assistance. We feel
that all people should have equal opportunity to
flourish in life.
AMURTEL was formed
in 1975 as a sister organization to respond
specifically to the problems faced by woman and
children in their struggle to develop. AMURTEL
is managed by women and initiates programs that
raise the standard of health and education of
women and children. The programs also permit
women to gain greater self-determination and
economic independence.
